After Katrina I sense a little bit of guilt in me feeling happy when those I know are safe and sound Whilst others lost their loved ones if ever they'll be found It will be months deducting till numbers come out at the end But still I feel this selfish happiness No number will I know as friend I wish I could embrace those people who's happiness went down Katrina's trail And I can only pretend to grasp the grieve and sorrow at this scale Let's all burn candles for those who died and those who pray, let's hear your voice Let's reflect in a moment of silence on the people lost by Nature's choice ~~~***~~~ For all those people who lost somebody they knew Like scattered leaves...my words will flow |

Today I got a job driving a truck from Baton Rouge to New Orleans. Mostly delivering supplies to the military personnel sent there. Still cannot go home. staying at that shelter. The houses we passed along the way were marked with spray paint with either a big X with the date (wich meant no bodies found) or an upside down triangle with a number inside. I myself saw no triangles on the route I took. tomorow we are supposed to go to another part of town. we will see. my prayers are with all. adagio (in exile) |
