where the wild flowers grow

0 posted 2005-09-07 07:13 PM

Age is
blurred vision,
we used to count
needles on the pines,
but now
we can no longer see them.

Perhaps we were always blind,
we only sensed what was there
and
what we wanted to be there.

Beyond
the hot flesh that
we tip-toed across,
and the desolate oceans
in which we bathed,
quietly tumbles
a memory we lost.

I always loved you,
even
with my blood long gone
and my tears dry,
I still feel that
deep ache.

It is no wonder
that we continue
to search..
only to find we
are bound by
our history.

We can reach
perpetually for
a touch that will never cease,
we
can pretend
that we exist only
for eachother..or..

you can either stay
or go.

Yeah, that rocked.  Appreciation of your art... not an appetite for destruction.

"bound by
our history"

Do you not think that once we recognize that history we then can change so as not to repeat?

I do.  But it took almost 20 yrs to get there...

I think so, Susan, but there's no way to change what has already been done.

Thanks for the replies, all.

You got me with the first stanza, of which I can greatly relate, and the rest flowed smoothly and sensibly.
