All the heroes that abound
Military, Police, and Fire
And neighbor helping neighbor
And the hope they all inspire.

The strong will of the People
As they wait and wait and wait
For the help they hear is coming
But, for some will come too late.

Awesome stories of survival
Some that are hard to believe
Of those people who had to stay
Because they had no way to leave.

The buses pulling into Houston
Unloading the exhausted smiles
From one world into another
In three hundred fifty miles.

Mom and Dads who left their newborns
Because they were too sick to go
Lost for several days then found
A happy time for them, you know.

In the days and weeks to come
Some of the tales may make some smile
But for so many thousands more
For them, will take a long, long while.
