(Here's a bittersweet song that I've written out of all my emotions of the millions being affected by Katrina! God Bless Them all and may they all be guided by both our love and God's love in the weeks they come as they make every effort to hang in there and renew their lives! ![]() I feel ever so much for the victims down there, as I've always loved New Orleans and was raised in the south much of my early life in southern Missouri/Illinois/Tennessee, and so many are just striving to fill the American dream, where this tragedy has indeed put too many at risk, losing their homes and hurting too many families both personally and financially! Hearing that 80% of New Orleans is under water really made me very sad inside, and I pray that this wonderful city doesn't suffer the fate any time soon like Atlantis did. This is kind of a song saying "Whatever happens, we're all in this together, and should this city be swallowed to the sea, nothing will ever take away the southern comfort and Cajun spirit in all our hearts! God Bless all the survivors and their families, and may angel healing hugs go out to all who've lost someone or something precious in this tragedy! ![]() ***** I Remember New Orleans By: Noah Eaton 8/31/05 I remember southern comfort and Caribbean pageantry, Hurricanes, parades and humidity, king cakes, streetcars and closer walks with thee, Jesus knows I need you closer than ever, closer than ever… I remember sazarecs on the house and bayou blues, horse carriages ambling down Esplanade Avenue, flowers of Faubourg Marigny and zydeco voodoo, speckling fish ponds long half-shallow, fish ponds long half-shallow. Déjà vu can return and give way, each time I sojourn down the Vieux Carré, like the xeranthemum grown between the cobblestone rues, I deal with another death then life renews… And when it is dark enough you can still see the stars, for everyone who asks receives and all who seeks finds, and when you can’t find a firm place to stand, (Talitha cumi) Little girl, arise. I remember cayenne pepper aromas from Uglesich’s, silver dime chimes and flyin’ horses, huck-a-bucks, passion marks and gris-gris, hey, bay-bee, if you need a new song in your mouth, I’ll share you mine… Déjà vu can return and give way, each time I sojourn down the Vieux Carré, like the xeranthemum grown between the cobblestone rues, I deal with another death then life renews… And when it is dark enough you can still see the stars, for everyone who asks receives and all who seeks finds, and when you can’t find a firm place to stand, (Talitha cumi) Little girl, arise. The flashing lights can blind me, my lungs can deflate as I’m screaming, the levee I’ve built can always break… …but here we are together, let’s make it through the night like twelfth night revelers, these tears may be our food now but we’ll survive… And when it is dark enough you can still see the stars, for everyone who asks receives and all who seeks finds, and when you can’t find a firm place to stand, (Talitha cumi) Little girl, arise. And when it is dark enough you can still see the stars, for everyone who asks receives and all who seeks finds, and when you can’t find a firm place to stand, (Talitha cumi) Little girl, arise. . . . . . I remember fire and I remember rain, constant sorrow and cruel plagues, I remember graves built above other graves, but I also remember through the chaos, God will turn to us and hear our cries… …little girl, arise, we’ll make it out of this alive… ******************************** Here are some sites you can visit to help the survivors of Katrina: CHARITY NAVIGATOR http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm/bay/content.view/catid/68/cpid/310.htm MERCY CORPS http://www.mercycorps.org/index.php?sections_id=3&subsections_id= 28&items_types_id=7&items_id=830&source=1050 AMERICAN RED CROSS http://www.redcross.org/ ******************************* "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other" Mother Teresa |

Noah, you brought up many memories from long ago my visit to New Orleans. My daughter returned from vacationing there just over a week ago. I am so thankful that she had not gone at the end of August as was previously planned. Thank you for the links so that we can all pitch in and help. God bless you, Angel Boy! I continue to send up prayers. Love & Healing Light Linda |

"And when it is dark enough you can still see the stars, for everyone who asks receives and all who seeks finds, and when you can’t find a firm place to stand, (Talitha cumi) Little girl, arise." Noah Angel, this says so much that I cannot put into words. This is a beautiful gift. And, thank you for those links too, my friend. ![]() [This message has been edited by iliana (08-31-2005 11:00 PM).] |

Talitha cumi Noah ,once again you show your heart with grace and elegance. And I LOVED the way you were able to work Aramaic into a song... THAT took talent. When all is said |

Oh Dearest Angel of mine...a tear slowly slides down my cheek and reminds me of how devastated I was when I saw New Orleans under all that water. Nature can be so cruel sometimes. She's a hard one to understand... I wish nothing but the best of vibes and blessings abound to all of those impacted...personally and otherwise. May God bless you and keep you all safe! Love always! I spent only two days in Nawlins, but it left an imprint that lasts forever. Shaking my head, sending healing thoughts to all of the south right now. |
