There are those who fear the night, Who cringe when shadows dance about, I comprehend not of their plight, And of one thing I have no doubt, That on far side of midnight’s hour, They have not gazed upon Polaris And felt the awe of welkin’s power As lost oneself in night’s abyss, Transcending through the firmament, Piercing heaven’s portal, Beyond the stars to worlds transcedendent, For in the night one is immortal. Aye, there are those who rue the night, Who evermore on earth reside, Who cannot see beyond stars’ light, Who shan’t traverse night’s great divide. |

Dear Tim, this is right after my heart. They really don't know what they miss! I am a stargazer too and your poem is just wonderful. Love, Margherita ![]() |
