Like a prophet seeking clarity on the wrong side of the street a girl turned woman, older now, reviews her memories. From the black and white of girlhood (and life was simpler then) to colour slides of debutants, white and virginal, and then the colour prints of approaching womanhood to hand held cine cameras of motherhood “et al” and still the meaning of it all an overdue to very late expected visitor. Past twilight now her image caught in frames of digital grants experience no value in the touch-up process and she smiles with the knowing into shuttered future times waiting for the flash, the flash of true insight and the click of understanding. She waits today, she still waits, that girl turned woman, older now. Helen / 27 August 2005 |

Helen "and she smiles with the knowing into shuttered future times waiting for the flash, the flash of true insight and the click of understanding. She waits today, she still waits, that girl turned woman, older now." Me too! Love your clever word play in this...well done! ![]() |
