forgive me for not holding your hand |

Someone is starving as we sit here and type, S(he) needs food and water, not whining and hype. Who cares if anyone reads my boohoo lost lover dribbles? It’s more important to me to see that one child scribbles the ABC’s with a full belly, a safe environment, and a smile than to concern myself with the drudgery of walking a mile while I still have shoes on my feet, heat in the winter and most of the time, safe shelter and clean water. So please forgive me for not holding your hand, for others need both my hands in another land, where finding a way to survive alive is number one, from the start of the day until it’s done, not who did or didn’t read how I bumped my head as I tripped over the stereo, computer, or the edge of the bed. And I am grateful to have a place to come home to each night, thankful that someone cares enough to leave on the porch light for midnite. * Peace |

"So please forgive me for not holding your hand," Y'mean that wasn't you? Oh lady, you sell yourself short. You have brought comfort to me many many times, and you astound me with your energy, and I wonder sometimes how such a teeny lady can house such a huge heart. *hearthugs* and man, you made me wanna join the peace corp! You do that yanno. You make me want to be a better person. |

Kacy, thank God-ness there are philanthropic people like you in the world who care and share. You put your love, time, and energy into feeding those children who are in need. God bless you. God bless them. Love & Light, Linda |

Kacy, you are one of the most kindhearted and compassionate people I know.....in real life or on the internet. Like someone else said, every poem I read of yours makes me want to be a better person. And, I somehow know that you honestly mean every single word you write, Lady!! I'd be willing to bet that you are not only a "talker" of these things, but also a "doer". Please don't ever change, Kacy. You are such a good person!! Hugs, Ethel |

*nodding with all above* and to you - for always always reminding ME that life could be much worse and to be grateful for everything that I have. I love this, its beautiful, Kacy. (and right now, I am going to retire with Billy - asleep in his tent on our closed in porch) see? magic, you are . . . |

"Who cares if anyone reads..." An interesting perspective, well written. To define the measurements by which to judge the value of a soul's efforts, could have been an intimidating task. For as far back as I have memory in this life I have never been comfortable with anyone holding my hand, but then my muse tends to take and follow her own path; my involvement mostly is to sit in the right place and take dictation. Of course in the end, I have the ability to choose to share or to dispose of what has been written. Lately I find I throw away most of what I write. Evolution can be a good thing - genetic, spiritual, poetic, etc., even on cyber forums. I think each in our own ways we all are pressured to share our thoughts, to post our poetic attempts as we evolve, but you may be correct that the band of acceptable work is becoming more narrow here. You have stated clearly another reason to resist that urge to share. Yes, this is a thought provoking piece of poetry. |

oh, dear icebox, I don't want anyone to withhold their heartbeat writes...for true heart sharing is the key to ending conflict. I guess I don't have enough time or patience these days to absorb so many personal heartaches and troubles. And I suspect the pieces you throw away are ones I'd be thrilled to read, for you are a fantastic writer, and always leave me hungry for more from the 'icebox' |

"Someone is starving as we sit here and type, S(he) needs food and water, not whining and hype." Thanks for once again giving voice to a percpective with which I wholly agree Kacy. Your heart (along with Jiminy's and the rest of 'em you got floatin' around in there) is certainly among the kindest I've known. And I'm proud to call you a friend... |

A thought provoking and meaningful write and, yes, we all need to be more grateful for what we have because there are so many "have nots" in the world. Strangely enough, I was thinking about the alphabet yesterday - here's what I came up with The alphabet Advance Because Conformity Denies Enlightenment Full Growth and Harbours Instead Juvenescent Keystone Legislation to Meter Nicely Out, Per cent and Quota Rights Secretively Tabled Under Voluntarily Will and Xeroxed Yesterday Zestfully! |
