All The Way To Germany

I knew that she loved Phil,
but I took the easy way out
and agreed with her Mom.

After Phil went into the Army
and to Germany, she told her
daughter to send him a
Dear John. (yes another Dear John)

I wasn't thinking of her,
I thought only of me,
I should have told her to
chase him all the way to Germany.
But I was too weak to
think compassionately,
only thinking of romantic
possibilities for her
and me.
