God On Our Side ?

Emperor slept when evil walked in,
soon tall mountains had fell.
Innocence was lost in the rubble,
as evil slipped away into darkness.

Opportunity knocked at the door of greed,
spinning the web of lies around eagle nest.
Terrors cloak with doom talk on horizon,
sin seeds were planted, to grow and prosper.

Truthless favors to get green flavors,
unarmored the group of faithful fighters ever courageous.
Pathetic reasoning transparent to the world,
as Satan laughed in his wickedness close by.

Giant condors wrecked blood havoc on lily-white lambs,
guaranteed parachutes of silver and gold treasure.
Then talk of democracy concealed the hypocrisy,
not supportive for the real conviction of truth.
God on our side ? ...I doubt it.....Paul
