the constant babble from the radio, the television, the computer, white noise excess, drowning out the thoughts we cannot give ample time to conjur up. in search of america on the streets of anywhere, gives me pause to see the raping of our minds and our conscience, speeding us to oblivion so we may never think. the lights lost to itself, the dream made simple with cash, few clues are left over, just the vanishing tides of hope we may never really see. in search of america in the eyes of those serving and those served, for the truth sucks and perhaps we need to blame anyone, as long as we stay numb to what was. they joined, and in that was thier purpose for this life, as is thier death, not simple not casual, nor comforting to the endless crying, just the truth and be proud. in search of america in the dim light of the bars, where the smell of bad beer and stale breath comfort you, its all so familiar being lost in its perfume of sorrow. tonight we sleep, dreams enter and flourish, the stars fall to the sea, and we wake in wonder of it all, to live one day without the pain of searching for america. |

and in searching for the reality that is America, when we get away from the media hype, we sometimes stumble over kernels of truth |
