"Mitakuye Oyasin" Being the youngest, I am most ignorant. Thinking of ages the world has passed, Realizing that older creatures Still exist....not because They can- But reason is, is they cannot, Disobey, what their spirits command. "My heart hears this, my heart agrees." Relationships are ways of life, Any absence Of plants and animals Would equal also me As being not. Stone and water people Are my relatives- Mountains- Lightning- (thunder) beings...are Because I am; Though different strings Are we-different colors Woven into tapestry; Close strands, Same loom woven, Into one gigantic, living cloth. And so I am the stemmed And winged people- Wind and rain, spark in rocks Part of all imbued In one great ball of living force.. "We Are All One People, We Are All Related." Creation demands Interdependency, Exhibits the great mystery- Being part, I am subject, And so the earth complies By giving me, as one With each, our needs. (With grace) unconsciously It demonstrates its stamina, By showing gain is only made By giving things away... Revealing itself in solid form, That fills all conscience cups (If its laws are strict obeyed) Subliminal- It will overflow, Its manna-onto Each and every plate. "Mitakuye Oyasin" |

Friends.. "Mitakuye Oyasin" ( pronounced-Me-tah-kwee-ay Oh-yah-seh) Is a two word prayer (Lakota language) A mantra of sorts, to put it in new age (or old age) terms...roughly meaning * "We Are All One People, We Are All Related." "People", in this statement meaning all creatures and beings That exist in the seven known directions, (Sacred circles that encompass things existing, and also things to come) According to their teachings..(my interpretation, after study) It also contains in its meaning the statement... *"My heart hears this, my heart agrees" My own heart hears this, and also agrees... Peace to all beings... ------------ice ><> |

to all relations, we are related...yes indeed we are Ford, not just human beings to human beings, but to all things... a poignant look at what reality has given us, yet, we turn a blind eye to the significance and the dangers of being individualists.... thank you for this...hugs |

Ford I can only find one thing to say right now, because this fills my heart with peace; My own heart hears this, and also agrees... Thank you for this Lakota prayer. ![]() |

In the wee hours of this morning, I was reading the Lakota phrophecies regarding the times ahead. Your poem is serendipitous, and shares such an important message. I will be reading this again and again. Thank you, Ford....... ![]() |
