The smooth of you and I, sensuously separated by the soft of sheets, the space between our beds, the cities in which we live. Words on wireless phones can’t touch your skin, kiss your lips, submerse themselves in the soul we share. They can’t feel like the touch of us beneath the softness of a single sheet, or whisper with sliding sighs like the smooth of you and I . . . inseparable. Words on wireless phones – not the way love was meant to be. Heartbeats through time and space, sensuously separated by the soft of sheets, the space between our beds, the cities in which we live. The smooth of you and I . . . lost to the sky. w.james beard, jr. © march 2005 |

Not the way love's supposed to be perhaps... but sometimes... you go with what you've got... and voice contact is better than no contact... even if your arms ache with empty. *S* I like this very much!! |

Well then, my friend, you both should meet at a compatible destination, and enjoy each other for the time you both have left...for a love like this, should not be separate...wonderful write dear poet...thank you for sharing. |
