Winter’s Accomplishments Numbness features embellishment as Winter’s mind reclines in profuse allegiance Engulfed fables of sphinxes Sprinting from planet to planet Storybook, placing its feet up On the desk of some green essence Sea grass of cosmic sediment Jumping through hoops of snowflake lace Where patters zigzag, grimace & beam Whimsical, temporal increments Pigmentations looking for new vision On some antique parchment of Christmas Long awaited wishes filled Sometimes pondering disappointments When the bows lay wrinkled Pieces of paper scattered Is visual fertility the embrace? Overlapping things of occurrence? The old man sits on a park bench Feeding pigeons of courage Confirming discernment A natural world given by existence Pathways for casual collections Pool ripples smile Seasoning smooth respite Cattails singing their beguile In expectation of spring’s return Interlude with winter’s play Spent Trying Inner self decides What, upwelling wonder returns?
