my mind hears the metal ghosts of wrenches in a garage of cotton fields windless as the bones that bathe in them bleach of ebony earth some country western singer would eat with his guitar by the tablespoon rich from the poor man's hands and mouth into the whine of wine and bread but then who prays at the pagan's communion ________________ dark |
