15th & Allison (Dry Your Eyes)

I kind of love you
kind of think you love me too
I know you're reeling from the scent of him
you know I'm revealing my want for you to let me in
just take your time, grow to realize
what we could find in eachother's eyes
don't be so surprised
take your time, dry your eyes

Down on 15th and Allison
you can hear the fun of the summer fair
close your pretty eyes
and let me touch your hair
make a wish, make the moon
rise within you, within me
within a moment let it set us free
so free

It's taking me the whole night through
to write this song dedicated to you
the pretty rough diamond
from 15th and Allison
I ache for in rhymes
staring out on the soft August sky
growing ever so bright
close my tired eyes,
let me touch the light in your name
the sight of your hair of autumn flame
to make a wish on your tears
but just dry your eyes, and never fear
I'll be here

Drink back a bottle of dawn
don't cry, by morning I'll step out of this song
and into your heart of gold
before the ink in these rhymes have dried
and the melody gets old
after this moment dies, it'll dry your eyes
and make you feel beautiful
I'll dry your eyes and make you see you're beautiful

Down on 15th and Allison
you can hear the fun drawing to a close
the autumn is tasted on the wind
nights like these, I swear I might propose
make a wish, make me shine
forevermore inside
within a hint of forever, let it set us free
flying so free

So dry your eyes
let me take you by suprise
sweet Michelle of 1530 Allison street
let me feel the moon rise
the moment we meet again
