Depressed Zone!! Do Not Enter!!

"A mind is a terrible thing"
when filled with the lack of...
I thought today might be a good day
to place a sign on the front door,
warning all,
that I am locked inside myself,
key hidden, to sink into the solitude
and discover what it is that keeps me.

Words run through this dark tunnel,
question marks embedded throughout
while my heart pounds, sometimes so loud
I try putting my hands over my ears,
but it turns into a motor-like sound
sawing away at worth.

Sleeping, almost non-existent
waiting, waiting, always waiting.
Even in the going after you must wait.
So I wait to fall asleep and yet, it never comes.

I am my best friend and my worst enemy,
co-existing in a whirlwind of thoughts
dancing a fine line, wondering when, if ever,
the music will stop.

My buttons were pushed
now if only someone
would reach out to depress them...

M, sometimes it's good to be depressed. Sheds a whole new light on things after awhile.
