A Substance To Desire

It always seems like
you wait a lifetime,
yes it always seems that way,
but in the twinkling
of an eye she was
standing before me,
managing to take my
breath away.

If there were ever a
reason to admire someone,
a substance to desire,
it was she who awakened
me from complacency
and rekindled my
ebbing fire.
