Geography Of Your Tanlines
(Part of: “Emmanuel Endorphin’s Serotonin Sundae”)
By: Noah Eaton
6/26/05

We rented out a love shack,
down the coast overlooking Alsea Bay,
we stared out as far as the Pacific could see,
dangling our legs over the balcony, letting them sway.
I ran a protractor through your freckles,
enjoying all the symbols of the sun’s do wah diddy diddy,
the sun must have smooched you at Viti Levu,
been hot on your trail all the way to Tahiti.

Now you preach,
like some party animal pastor on Myrtle Beach,
so now allow me to beseech,
let’s shake these latitudes and longitudes one more time…

It’s the geography of your tanlines,
that bring out the young blood in your complexion,
the geography of your tanlines,
that chirk up this universal language’s truest reflections.
The geography of your tanlines,
are what keep us skipping on sunshine,
the geography of your tanlines,
are what make Guinness records for world’s longest smiles.

We stepped out on the beach at eleven in the morning,
making the most out of the low tide,
cranking Cooly’s Hot Box on the boombox,
in our old school beachcombing joyride,
I saw the freckles speckling your backside,
as you leaned down to collect a sand dollar,
Bombay must have smit you like a strawberry switchblade,
made you squeal as though you were its lucky caller!

It just comes to show,
maybe she was born with it in Kokomo,
but I love the way you are even so,
so let’s shake these latitudes and longitudes one more time…

It’s the geography of your tanlines,
that bring out the young blood in your complexion,
the geography of your tanlines,
that chirk up this universal language’s truest reflections.
The geography of your tanlines,
are what keep us skipping on sunshine,
the geography of your tanlines,
are what make Guinness records for world’s longest smiles.
.
.
.
.
.
(You have me smiling,
like Little Miss Summer,
when she was crowned America’s Cutest Baby,
back in 2001!
Ha ha ha!)
.
.
.
.
.
Two in the afternoon, and she asks me,
“You wanna head down to the Sea Lion Caves?”
I say, “You always send my heart equator-bound,
so how could I ever reject that offer, my sun-shining babe!”
Cuz anyone can just see those freckles,
and have every birdhouse perkin’ up like the Canary Islands,
(Hey sir, I need to see some I...ahhhhh,
diggin’ those tanlines, hey, you’re good to go, Bobby McFerrin!)

“What sunshine is to flowers,
smiles are to humanity”,
so let’s scatter them as we roam the world,
shaking these longitudes and latitudes left and right!

It’s the geography of your tanlines,
that bring out the young blood in your complexion,
the geography of your tanlines,
that chirk up this universal language’s truest reflections.
The geography of your tanlines,
are what keep us skipping on sunshine,
the geography of your tanlines,
are what make Guinness records for world’s longest smiles.
It’s the geography of your tanlines,
that bring out the young blood in your complexion,
the geography of your tanlines,
that chirk up this universal language’s truest reflections.
The geography of your tanlines,
are what keep it good in the neighborhood,
the geography of your tanlines,
are what keep me always feeling do wah diddly diddly good!
.
.
.
(Now I think I’m in the mood for Santa Cruz,
how about you?
Whooooo!)

Noah, I do believe that I just broke the Guiness Book of records for the widest smile! Sunshine

"I ran a protractor through your freckles,
enjoying all the symbols of the sun’s do   wah diddy diddy,
the sun must have smooched you at Viti Levu,
been hot on your trail all the way to Tahiti"

~ Oh, that is so sweet!

Love in the sun!

Reminds me of the other morning when me and my girlfriend were getting a tan...I was rubbing her back and she said "careful, don't mess up the tan line."...James
