Words of Nothing At such an hour of the night I sit and contemplate my plight It’s now I’m master of the page But thinking thoughts do not engage I shuffle words like decks of cards Like shuffled thoughts of noted bards Whose lungs are gasping for a breath At keyboard words of little depth Well, pardon me, I truly dread The discontentment of the dead But your sweet words are out of sight And I am master of the night Do not sit by my side and weep For words that slipped into the deep Your verses live within my heart But I am master of the dark My shuffled thoughts are of a kiss And claim an hour such as this Elizabeth Santos |

as I was reading, and although your speaking of an all powerful entity here, this jumped out at me, and I could see "you" shuffling the cards of words....excellent prose I shuffle words like decks of cards Like shuffled thoughts of noted bards Whose lungs are gasping for a breath At keyboard words of little depth |
