In The Rain waiting in the rain for a truck that may never come, because no one else would do it today there’s a building with narrow eaves and by cowering under I’m half-dry, but every little spurt of breeze spats me with a shiver of drops wet is a matter of time my pickup’s out there where I left it before this got bad, the exhaust a white swirl behind I hear the wipers ticking, ticking I can hide here, half-wet or walk straight out into it and get soaked, then wait, warm but wet, while the truck either comes or doesn’t it’s mine to choose now I have |

Ed Life is just choices, I think...I've made so many wrong ones, and some right, thankfully. And I think if I were you, I'd run through the rain and get in that warm truck wherever it is...and listen to the rhythm of the wipers. But, that's your choice. |

got a chuckle from this one, RatL....not at you, but because you take the simpliest things and make a person ponder...that's what made me giggle. Happy Valentine's Day. .....jo |

I can hide here, half-wet or walk straight out into it and get soaked, then wait, warm but wet, while the truck either comes or doesn’t it’s mine to choose now I have I love this... you paint the scene with your words so vividly. *S* But the mystery you left us with wasn't really one. *S* For even before I read your response, I knew your choice... You're one to face life head-on... not cower and hope your corner will stay dry. *S* Excellent work!! |

What a coincidence that this poem comes back up on a Sunday, when I was just out doing a morning's worth of work for which I won't be paid....because it needed doing and nobody else would..... ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

I cannot add any more than what others have written, so now… just including my two cents worth – that I thoroughly enjoyed this poem. That you can write of something so simple, an every day thing… that all can relate to… yet it correlates to a grander theme of life ~ that’s talent. An interesting write, indeed. |

smile with this one~ yep choices, taking that leap to get what one needs, yet such fear of a little water, what it can do to a person~ as i chuckle here, i needed this one as i am becoming afraid of just going out the door and making that new life i so desperatly need, so for now i just sit and tell myself, its a quiet time just for me, thats maybe needed more at this time. who knows. thanks, My spirit will rise |
