The world is hemophiliac.

Cries have been heard
from the thunder, my friends.
Years before we inhaled
our first stale breath
on this plane,
we exhaled sweet honey
from whence we came.

Vomiting our souls
into a dying sky,
creating rainclouds.

Have you ever wondered
exactly why, as a child,
the clouds seemed to take shape?

It was not childhood imagination.

Moreso, the embers of your spirit
and those before you.
Aimlessly floating
on a new path -
to an old life -
down a new road -
past thicket and bramble,
reaching row upon row of rosegarden.

Standing sentinal
as soldiers at arms.

One time I saw the skull
of my forefathers' in the sky
and I deemed myself insane.

Oh, to be lying
upon the damp slumber of life!
The living grass speaking volumes of
Whitman
Blake
Kerouac
Malcolm
JFK
Einstein
Martin Luther
King
Jr.
would take you by the hand, today
and kneel with you in solemn prayer,
muddying his pantleg
to kiss the soil,
with you in tow.

The 23rd Psalm
has always brought me comfort.

The thin line, woven
between where worlds collide,
astounds me.
I try to relinquish
what and who I once was
in order to become
what I am to be.

It is not enough for me
to be sustained, merely,
by the definition of "existence"
when I possess the ability to fly.

What then, seperates that thin line
of pursed lips in vain,
a heavy hand,
a voice extolling wisdom
or cruelty upon another?

What thin line seperates
my hand from passing -
lucid and glasslike,
through that wall of oppression
lined with
hate
love
greed
empathy
grief
happiness
to where I can actually begin
to feel LIFE
tingling up my arm,
to my heart,
escalating to my brain,
sparking neurons to regenerate
back to a time
when there may have been a Utopia?

Where is this line?
Has it ever existed?

Our prophets would weep
for the youth of today.

They would weep for the elders.

The entire human race
ceased to exist
when it stopped listening
to itself.
The message was lost
when the Romans
weilded mallet and spike.

The disconcerting fact
is that they were only doing their job.

The world is hemophiliac.

Maybe one day, hence,
like woman,

it will cease to bleed.

You lady as they say, have come a long, long way.  What exceptionally good poetry this was.  (Not that it wasn't good before but trust me now your writing is simply exquisite.)

Susan Marie?

This is nothing short of stellar! It has everything one would want of poetry.

Stirring, emotive, thoughtful, solid,

And as good as anything I've read in ages...by anyone!

Very impressive, You beatnikhippie!

"Life is hemophelia"

Moreover, a struggle to control the bleed......from a continuous hemorrage of the soul.

I loved this write, Sue. It's very reminiscent of Plath or Diane DiPrima, two of my favs.

Seeing as I have been called by my birth name up there, I have either done something good or something verrry bad!  You guys are way too good to me when I stretch my wings poetically and attempt to strive for something different.  I love that.

This is like a sit-in.
(beatnikhippie, heh - *smiling at you*)

I want to thank you guys for always patting me on the back when these absurd thoughts pop out of my head and I am grateful having a place to toss them to be tested among the finest writers and people I have ever met.

I just read Eldridge Cleavers', "Soul On Ice", while being an amazing and prolific book, there were a lot of ideals I did not agree with and some that smacked me straight in the middle of my forehead.  So this was kind of a personal note to him, should he be reading . . . *grin*   Definitely a book of its era and it kind of made me sad tothink of all the struggle then and always and then looking at the world today and not really seeing change for the better AT ALL.  It saddened me to read of so many powerful wheels in motion, grinding, in a good way and I wonder where and when they had been halted?

Everyone should click on what Dix left up there
Dixie . . . that was beautiful and add the
Serenity Prayer to that list and basically most
of the Psalms . . .

*waving my freak flag*

thanks guys

Good Lord Sue...
ummm.....I dont have words for this sweetie...
when I find the words, I will be back.
The 23 Psalms has always been most moving to me also.

Your writing is captivating with a depth beyond compare.  I love it, am keeping it,
and yep, have bookmarked Dixie's link. It too, is beautiful.

One of the aspects that I enjoy about your poetry, is that you include a heavy dose of intellect along with your heart and spirit.

An eloquent and thought-provoking piece of poetry! Your pen's ink is pure gold.

My absolute favorite, (although something you once wrote in reply to yeti nudges for 1st place too)

I was going to say, "my how you've grown" but more apt to say, "my howy you've flown"

as enchanting as any bird on the wing, you are

This is an IMPORTANT write, dear Sue. It has such depth and beauty.

I watched Dixie's Psalm 23 ... it is indeed the most comforting prayer I know. Those pictures! Awesome.

Awesome, just like you!
