Skipping through maybes
Wavering huhs
Seldom said nothing
Time rends fate
Teeth set on edge
Heavy sighs cry night
The tear lost itself
The frown grasped a lie
Whispers called my name
But I didn’t understand
Sounds left no beat
Drums were silent
Yet mouths moved whispers
Fate peered away
Fear dripped and ears cleared
Whispers heard fearful lies
Soft sounds drew near
Deep thoughts
Left doubts

Paul....this was like skipping with words...made me almost out of breath.  I enjoyed the dichotomy of some of your lines...like, "whispers called my name", and "Drums were silent".  Very interesting poem!

Paul,

    Wow!

    "Skipping through maybes
    Wavering huhs"

Astounding, it's as if you hold a  crystal ball...

And then this and everything in-between!

    "Soft sounds drew near
     Deep thoughts
     Left doubts"

It's great to see you posting again.
