Stirring the Pot

I stretch my morning out,
the fragrance of the Linden
giving me pause as you fill
the uneven emptiness
with the kiss of verse.

Contentment spells my day,
its comfort in abundance,
a left over feel
from my habit of you.

A touch is far from enough,
as it releases my thoughts
to melt me
into both the heat of the day
and arms that embrace...

The taste of yesterday...liquid gold.

Maureen...

just laid out three loaves of bread to rise...

get here in about 3 hours,
and we'll have bread, and jam,
and read this poem
over again...

smiling cause I don't think I could get there fast enough besides to think of baking bread in 90 degree weather and a heat index as high just makes me wish I had a pool to jump in ...

thanks for the invite *s

Dear Maureen, this is very lovely and the title fits! Sometimes a little bit of stirring is necessary.

Love and hugs.
