Whet Tongues of a different language cling beneath the surface of night Wants-of-lust, pillow'd deeply scar the eyes of a lover While nails hold in their curve, a coat, shed and shorn to be worn as balm, for lips that whisper "whet" photo/poem©sdt'05 "i close my eyes and gather up the puddle of this life, one teaspoon at a time, into a bucket with holes" ~me an excerpt from "she still sees ugly" |

Whet? As in hone, strop, file, sharpen, grind, taper, finish, mill, smooth? A very interesting choice for a closing word Snow. I love the poem. When I got to the last word I'm like whoa! I skipped back to the top an reread it several times. You made it work. Bravo! Very, very, well done. I would never have come up with that myself. Two thumbs up for this one. |

A challenge from Ed -- spend a moment today, thinking about how we should treat a good person who is one of PiP's finest poets....if not this one, then one of your choice....it seems we need to. |
