I Am I am the voice of confidence within a heart of insecure I wonder what you think you see when looking at the whole of me I hear the voices in my head - they tell me I'm not good enough I see myself in mirror and reflect on who I have become I want someone to love beyond the surface to the real of me I am the voice of confidence within a heart of insecure I feign contentedness and smile in costume of felicity I feel the sting of loneliness when I succeed in masquerade I touch the child inside of me and wonder where she went astray I fear that I'm not worthy of the acclamations passed my way I cry in solitary world - I cannot let the people see I am the voice of confidence within a heart of insecure I understand the consequence of hiding heart's identity I say I'll show the all of me and let the cards fall where they may I oft' imagine unity - a peace for all humanity I try my best to make a difference in the lives surrounding me I hope you think of me as 'friend' and know I love you endlessly I am the voice of confidence within a heart of insecure ______________________________ *Repost... because I needed to... |

Vicky, have read this three times and will come back. You speak of yourself but I see me and many others in your words. Wish we could all move above these inner fault finding thoughts..So we could become all we could be... Anais Nin told it well. We are our own worst critics because we know all the little crannies and just how to push the right buttons. . best marty |
