Funny how
nature has a way
of knowing
when something
with the current
situation isn’t
quite right

Have you
ever watched?

You can tell
that it knows
when a storm
is on the horizon

Clouds will move
like heavy traffic
as if the sky
were a crowded
highway of sorts

Bumper to bumper
the clouds are
up there
high in the sky

They roll in, roll out
even here on
ground level
the leaves
do this weird
turn backwards thing

I’ve seen it
many, many times
all the leaves
turn their bodies
heavenward

waiting

       waiting

waiting on the rain

Why can’t we be
that smart I wonder

Why don’t we see
and prepare
for the storms
that hit us

No, we just get
blind-sided
and then we
stand there
in the rain

We can even
see it all coming
and even still…

we wait

wait

wait on the rain

We should take
a lesson from
the clouds
and the leaves

We should roll out
or belly up
when we know
that the storm
is on the way

Instead of just

waiting

      waiting

waiting on the rain

I may hate myself in the morning - but I'm gonna love you tonight

well, in Hurricane Ivan I stood strong...and then fell afterwards

I always said batten down the hatches and ride it out...

now..."run like hell" is my motto

I love it.

Even the massive rain and wind last fall from all the hurricanes...

enjoyed Tima!

I love this piece. It is a great read as I sit here listening to the rain fall outside my window.
