The duo's chatter surged and ebbed
like some furious flow
of vocal gymnastics

they pulled all appropriate
twitches and creases
and deployed their
energetic hand movements

sometimes their bodies inched close
to convey interest

Helpfully covering up
their bulldozer driver act
of navigating
their thoughts on
opposite sides of the road

unaware/unconcerned/uncaring
for the lack of convergence

feeling safe in the inaneness of it all

A keen sense of observation is necessary in a good poet. You have that sense ~ and it is very keen!

I could see ~ and hear them ~ in their inane private (yet not so private!) world!

You rendered the sounds and the gestures so very well!
