Bravo,
my second time out
and I only managed to lose
one five dollar lure.

There was a fish,
I think a carp.

I could have taken five steps,
reached down with my hand
and picked him up.

Instead
I cast past him,
around him,
and in front of his nose.

I almost caught the sluggard
by snagging his tail.

Then Zen like
I slowly began
to become the fish.

I could feel the gills
I could feel his thought:

“Boy, I’m really hungry ,
I could eat anything now ,

yes, anything, anything,
however old the smell
anything at all,

but never whatever the Hell is that !”

I love a fish story, John, and this made me smile especially since I love the "think like a fish" line of reasoning.

But unfortunately for me, lines of reasoning snap under the weight of the big reds.

grin?

Loved this...
