I can recall the slamming of the lock as it went into place even the cold of the chains as they wrapped tight my body 'Tis an awful place to be locked inside this prison deep inside of me I remember the song that was playing at that very moment something about sparrows and hurricanes Nothing more than storms of the soul My muscles contract from the soreness that is has taken to hold onto you without losing me Someone close Pandora's box for the memories that rest here are too much stimulation for a soul that longs to forget what once was, and the wounds just want to heal I understand now how Scarlet must've felt to wear the letter of shame little drummer boy calling out her name I can't think in this house, or this town I feel as though at any moment I will bust and bleed from the inside out My intentions of a good life have become a mystery obscured inside a twisted puzzle that exsists within an enigma The serene silence of it all is what scares me the most Should desperation be this quiet? I break like shards of glass and fall to the ground like a feather The falling was always easy for birds like me it was the landing that hurt like hell My feathers seem to harden on the way down I hit bottom a feathered brick So in the end I exsist in the darkest corners of the box Wearing my letter marching to the sound of drums only I can hear Searching for the peice of the puzzle that fits the silent desperation that the wounds have become Listening to that same ole' song about sparrows and hurricanes and I realize The storm 'aint even hit home yet And the feathers are resting under the bricks that I call home ** this entire write was born of single sentances, or verses from poems of my past ** -My muses greatest hits- I may hate myself in the morning - but I'm gonna love you tonight -Lee Ann Womack |

hi tima, read about your intention to mix and match lines from all(?) poems previously written and felt honoured to come across your accomplishment. this was a superb effort. nicely-held together, with a tinge of melancholy quote: i liked these lines the most |
