~*~ To my dear old muse…May you have some pity on me….~*~

It's been long
Since I wrote…
A word
Sang a song
Or even penned down a thought

It seems hard to explain
Why though I had so much pleasure and pain
So much to lose
And to gain
I couldn't my throne of words regain

Perhaps my muse is angry at me
For leaving without a word
Her company of mystery
Where she is the queen of all that could be
In words….
But not in reality
Where she could shove me around
In a single utterance
that could bring me down to the ground
or lift me upwards
to the sky
or down where people go by
I couldn't shake this magical control
She has over me
No matter how hard I try
Or what my plea would be
So I left
Without really meaning to
And my pen has ever been since
Silent and blue

Is it a punishment my muse gave to me?
For not being with her majesty?

I hope she'll come back soon
For my days have been
a blank endless noon
with a cruel sun
that sheds its light and leave none
none but me
who has nothing to say
to this stubborn muse
who keeps silent everyday

and now …
I stand
Upon this empty ground
Where my words once been
I try to understand
How could my pen be
Without this dear old muse
That once resided within me….

Of myself forever reproaching myself,

You conveyed your thoughts and feelings so poetically, that perhaps you do not have need of a muse. But then again, perhaps your muse has returned and is sitting quietly on your shoulder guiding your pen!

Warm, welcome-back hugs,
EA

Your muse knows
no time, no fence,
no horizon,
for her boundaries, endless...
and in circle....

but ...

universal...

why, you left her for but a brief moment,
and she wandered, aimless, rootless,
untethered, until for but a brief moment
you once again
felt her wings....

and she came home...
as did you.

Welcome, welcome home...

I can certainly understand this....having been there, and what Sunshine said.

Isn't it weird how our muse can go into hiding at its own free will.  I get so frustrated with mine sometimes... the moody ole' hussy haha

Great write however, with a message that I am sure lots of us can relate.

I can understand this feeling , my muse disappears from time to time , giving no reason or rhyme

OH how nice to see you again. I have been gone a long while too, my muse completely abandoned me. But today I thought I would read, anyway. I think your writing here shows yours is still in residence.
