Desolation A part of me died a while back In its place what’s left is pain Setting my outlook on the future off track I still shed a tear or two But most often it is three tears a day The pain doesn’t seem to want to go away I will somehow find a way to survive But this I know That part of me will never again feel alive |

It does feel like a part is reserved to the past sometimes, and you convey that very well. I wonder if we hold on sometimes as a means of validating what we felt...not what we feel. There is a risk in finding happiness again. To accept it is to realize that what we knew was not all there is to know. Good Memorial Day Poem. TD |
