I remember your infant smiles.
The way your raised arms would
Wrap around my neck in trust
The way you used to call my
Name with your toddler giggles.
I can still feel the weight of you
sleeping curled up against me with
your golden curled head against my chest
I remember looking down at your face
With such wonder that a child could be
So beautiful, smart and perfect
I was blessed to have your love

And then you were gone,
off to live a better life,
one I was no longer part of.
My heart cried and I couldn’t believe
that in a simple moment I lost you.
The moments I've waited for
flashed through my mind.
Your first day of school,
your first school dance,
your first puppy love crush.
There is no way for you to know
how badly I wanted to be there.
You can’t imagine how many times in the
past seven years you have crossed my mind.
Or how tightly I hold you in my heart
with love that has only gotten stronger
since I last seen your angel face.

The memory of me faded with
your days of toddler delight.
In my mind they burn brightly,
forever etched in my heart.
No matter what happens in the passing
years, my love will always
follow you asyou grow into the
beautiful woman I know you will become.

Hello Tara...good to read you again..
albeit such a sad write.
Heart hugs coming your way.

Life is one great big canvas;
throw all the paint on it you can.

Tara, this one blew me away...
I hope she gets to read this some day, and feel the depth of love in and between each line.
