Silent Partners

If found the way, words can’t convey
And clear the path that lead astray
I see you there, ahead of me
Discarding parcels held dearly
The rains begin, these tears run thin
Inclined to gather up again
False smile removed, the torn edge smoothed
And held this close, I too am soothed
Still bruised this pride, you cast aside
Rejuvenates with care applied
A broken heart in pieces still
So fragile placed in my hands fill
And held against my own to beat
The rain continues to be sweet
Your wings left bent, were heaven sent
I pick them up and with me went
To quiet edges where you sit
In agony with none of it
And not a word would silence break
To be with you, for being’s sake
And in my arms I find still warm
What you had lost amidst the storm
And hold it now, and hold I will
Without a voice beside you still
To let you see yourself in me
And to guard well your property
A woman knows in different prose
As seen through feelings logics clothes
And talk is cheap but deed is true
With all I am, I do love you
