To Know That Kind of Love (Algiers 1938) The notorious Pepe de Moko leaves the safe haven of his Casbah, hoping to sail to France with his beloved Gaby, only to be captured by the police, who grant his last request to watch her ship sailing away, and as he spots her on the stern he yells his last farewells, and then he does what every man in love would do, he runs towards her, as the ship sails away, and the police, fearing an escape, fire a fatal shot, and Pepe falls to the ground, this to become his dying day. "I'm sorry Pepe, he thought you were going to escape." French Police Inspector Slimane. "And so I have, my friend." Pepe's last words.
