the curves of a long leg 192
were always more of a thrill
than donut holes on first sundays
even the sprinkle kind
could not arouse
as did those slow to 20's

we watched the trash trucks
play with paper bags
and wind children
I heard your fingers
on my leather
burrowing

or was it a puppy in blankets
looking for treats under
and panting from the exercise
but none the less
there were trees for shade
and hide behind in our minds

and we blushed then
how they loved our skin
against the rough of them
and the leaves that fell
onto their backs
to look up at us as gods

before me gave them new thunder

It is my favorite way to get to where I'm going!  Very colorful!

Love when the wind plays wicked and stirs up the words - was watching dust devils yesterday while driving across the desert/farm lands - it too stirred words - enjoyed this peek -

tremendous...love the word play and yet, precise imagry which you capture so well...
If one comes in hungry for poetry, you fill the reader to the brim.  As my grand-daughter would say, "Full up to Here"....nice smooth trip you've taken me on...loved this
