![]() Inside, I feel if only I could just contort this wilted body Into tints of purest unknown colors It may allow me to show you, Love like this. Outside, Skyward I witness the heavens Ablaze in flashes of shorted out dreams, Where cold tears of life become the flint To kindle up an ethereal electrical show Never to be duplicated by any mortal. Leaden shroud of cloud rolls in Trouncing the very heavens in a roar, Even theirloud claps of thunder, Unable to drown my searing pain, They retreats in silence. Inside, My soul’s need to believe in hopes and dreams Summons the Devine One’s touch. Oh, so gently he draws back the curtain of doubt, Revealing that which instantly will bow one’s head In reverent awe, love, and praise. Outside, Hues and tints form in His hands, Stretching over this earth sideways, and skyways, Where an untrained eye sees primary color. The spectacle He creates is constantly changing, Prismatic splashes of true color, upon color, Light up the sky as far as the eye can see To answer those queries Only sought by a mind’s true sorrow. Inside, I know at the end of any storm If I walk half way over a bridge of understanding, There and only there Will I find a rainbow. ~*~ "Look upon the rainbow, and praise Him that made it.”Ecclesiastes 43.2 |

Ah Dixie, so are you! I was just thinking today, how very lucky are we to be able to have the ability to communicate as human beings with each other. Now, if we could only use it to our benefit to further the existance of mankind, instead of its extinction, this would be good, right? There is not one thing that can not be worked out with understanding is there? |

Thank you ladies, like all things in life, sometimes you just have to agree to disagree I guess? Was having fun with Paintshop Pro and found some words to wrap around a picture that spoke to me. |

"Now, if we could only use it to our benefit to further the existance of mankind, instead of its extinction, this would be good, right? There is not one thing that can not be worked out with understanding is there?" I totally agree with on this. Thanks for sharing your thoughts the way presented. |

You've got a kind of Cartesian dualism going on here---the physical and spiritual, sensory and conceptual worlds are at a conflict with one another. I love the modesty of your swapping between primary and secondary colours---there's a touch of modesty to it, the singularity against the plurality (the "rainbow") and the secondary colours of the outside. There's also a kind of universal meekness that you touch upon with lines like "Never to be duplicated by any mortal." This vibrance that you discover, compared with the "reverent awe, love, and praise" that it inspires, makes happy the diversity between inside and outside, without having to reconcile it. Your final conclusion is a powerful resolve of faith: quote:This is what Kierkegaard called "the task of becoming subjective," or faith found in the recognition of the disparity between the self and God, the "inside" and the "outside" as you say. Then there's that strangely comfortable, though seemingly irreconcilable reconciliation that you've chosen to call "Inside Outside." Congratulations for demonstrating that philosophy is no match for poetry, that sincere meditation with inwardness on the fundamental outwardness is all the comfort one needs. The rainbow, the covenant between God and man, is the most suitable place you could have possibly discovered this. Loved reading this, Sharon.
