Floating gently on a cloud....

You have become a stranger to me,
Long long ago and far away
In the land of happy ever after
The dream is gently floating.
No more words, no more smiles,
Days to weeks to months,
Time slips by silently.
Yet ever my beloved will you be,
Though life goes on and love
Visits again; for there is a love that
Comes only once in a lifetime.
It is enough for my heart to have
Known you, to have been held
By your gentleness and strength.
I have my memories, stardust
Swirling through my soul.
I have my memories, all that is left
Of my fairytale, the dream that
Didn’t come true, consumed by the
Nothing, on its travels through time.
I am happy to have known you.
I walk on, not looking back,
Seizing all the joys as they
Visit me in my journeying.
I do not look backward but
I remember everything and
As long as I remember, there
You are, with me, always with me.
