In Your Poetic Mind

~~
When darkness settles and the wind remembers:

naked and standing alone

your hands, fractal tracings
along crimson pages of winter wood
a hollowed soul,
a metaphor for cradled love
for long nights
in harvest of heart

has he ever wondered why I stand quietly?

preaching to a mirrored reflection

give back my youth and younger stones,
in a room of stars and wind

that I may be--

if I love, consider this
to be from my own mouth

if I want--

do not blame

it is the art
I never figured in --

I do not remember the
call of sign
like rain or ash

I do not mention his name
though his wind blows through me

and you:

a place among my spiritual being
the image clear

we are not doves

within his beauty

we never touch
~~~~~~
thank you to Ratleader for such inspiration.....
I thought that you'd be here by now
Theres nothing but the rain
This is my 5,000th post....and the calendar just turned over to my birthday. I had been hoping to find a truly exquisite poem to mark it....and I just did.
You humble me.
I thank you each for stopping by and letting me know you were here, to read, respond and take this in....
ED,
you pulled my muse outta of a slump, I am thankful....
hugsss and love to all
Lauren~
I don’t mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
