She asks ... |

Arms folded she stands on her soapbox of love as the sky blue above testifies to her soul widened and broadened and made immortal by the shedding of all old cover-up clothes. What lies beneath? And she touches the edge strokes further in, and comes to the middle amazed to find there a drawstring to pull and gather together all love has made good. A bundled up package lies simply nowhere neither on land nor in the ether slowly watching fine cords of deep seated needs fade under the spotlight of approaching old age. On her soapbox again all sprightly and spry avowing to be a refashioned queen or a witch casting spells to bring into view fate’s merry will to change and make new. And the bell rings; time to stop and take stock. On her hand an indent where once lay a ring tight and restricting, confining, untrue and she wonders exactly what she should do. Can a package aware split atoms in two? Half back into arms, stable, cold, very cold, and the other into a secret abode in the depths, very depths, of immortal soul? Arms folded she stands on her soapbox of love, the wind remains still, the clouds pass on by, while she, the she who believes in her dreams, feels the folding within of all she holds dear … and she asks exactly what she should do. Helen, you have such a way of writing that if you posted under another screen name, I would still know it was you. I don't know how you do it but it's awesome! |

Hi, Dixie - I learnt a long time ago that I can't change who I am although I would really like to change the way I write. Guess I'm stuck with both. Thank you for reading. LeeJ - Thanks for the read and a very good morning to you. Evening approaches here and perhaps a forever "cold". |

Thank you, EA. Gentle is as gentle does. Time will tell how the wind blows. |
