She lay alone in shimmering white virginal in her pose beside her bed a book of poems a bud vase with one rose A faded quilt keeps her warm as the hours pass slowly by she sees the change in her window as days tick slowly away Sometimes she lives in reality seeing all the good in life today but mostly she faces inward and watches the view from yesterday |
