I came cold, down the stair-escape
with eyes low enough to sink the sailing giddy
of all those listeners
high on his voice

I am that low

swarming you and I
choking in waves

Are we crying
more outwardly than we imagine?

Ordinary sailors
ordinary sickness
of the wait til next fleshy hold

(my hands still sting
from the applause)

But I find you with them
at the exit

and the sight of the golden horizon
your locks only-dry within the wind
fresh sunshine sails upon the sea of heads
had me stolen-cargo
into the arms of you

exqisite young breath in my ear

I would like to have told you
as you looked at me and shook-paler than before

I really did wish you were there next to me
in the intimate dark

watching his face in the spotlight
singing every song that reminds me of you.
