Someday's Dreams Living for someday's dreams and Sunday's brand new sunbeams a moment flies between you and me a moment in quiet harmony moon is up, it's in the streets rain is falling, in between heartbeats in the dancing green of a cat's eyes you see someday's little jealous lies falling from somebody's smile putting somebody's heart on trial longing for someday's dreams and the way a redhead's hair gleams like the morning sun cutting through, shot from an ugly gun in her pretty hand her pretty castles in the sand being washed away by the tide so in the ocean she hides becomes a mermaid, spying on me her tail flapping at my daydreams yesterday's nightmares are the new trend my worst dreams are coming true 'round the bend my book of poems always open for all to see so everybody in the world can judge me and the feelings I have for her my feelings becoming a blur through these tears through these fears of never seeing her again losing myself in puddles of rain never to dream someday's dreams never to be somebody's dream willow weep for me I used to be somebody's dream "Poets are all who love, who feel great truths, and tell them; and the truth of truths is love." --Philip James Bailey |
