Acidophilus Acidophilus coats my mind It coats the burns that make me blind It sooths the ember left of sigh Absorbing tears that left my I It is a potent made of will A potent made of age and skill Vigor made of lacy weave A virulence of make believe The rub was made a sore of grime Brought to red by sands of time Peeling skin from off my hide By its very wear of tide I know I wage a losing war I drink this wine to sooth the core To sooth the brine that burns the prime The breakfast of old father time And though I dance a piper’s fife The steps too fast a single life |
