I am everyman, and I’m frightened I wonder what the evening brings I hear the stone, rolling And see, the cave dimming I am everyman, and I’m frightened I pretend that I am finally made whole Feeling what a young man once felt Touching upon what could have been Crying in secret, over milk that I’ve spilt I am everyman, and I’m frightened I do understand that what’s done is done But believe, I may yet be redeemed In dreaming away the “everyday” I try justifying, “who I am” with “what I am” Hoping, I can at least acquaint them I am everyman, and I’m frightened |

I remember this...as distinctly as if I had read it just yesterday. |

I try justifying, “who I am” with “what I am” Hoping, I can at least acquaint them If you manage... would you tell me how? *S* This is one of those poems that make me SO glad you're writing instead of doing decoupage. *G* Excellent work!!! |
