Where Will I Run? |

Where Will I Run? I know he was laid to rest Dear Lord; I was there at his service But what about his soul, I need to be sure that you received it?? Did he complete his journey? Join his mother and his father? Is he free from pain and sickness, regained all of his power? Why can’t he just come back to let us know that he is ok? Is that too much to ask? Is that too much to let him say? It’s like this hasn’t happened, he’s still sitting in his chair Guiding me on life and love, watching sports on TSN Grandmas cooking dinner, checking laundry while she waits Fifty-Nine years of marriage and dinner was never late I see him with that clever hat, atop a cute white strip of hair Out the door to start the van, driving Grandma here and there He was the cutest grandpa ever yet the strongest man I’ve known Give the shirt right off his back; the list goes on and on……… I was so reliant; on the love and strength he gave me If it wasn’t for his love only god knows where I’d be His guidance, his wisdom, his stubborn special way He lives here inside my heart every beat and every day I realize he is gone sweet lord, it’s hard but I do PLEASE could you show me if he made his way to you? If this is impossible, something you just cannot do Then please give him this message, from me but through you: I miss you my sweet grandpa, simple words just can’t express The strength that you taught me, has now been put to test But I will make you proud of me; stand tall against life’s turns Roll model for my children, like you were, I have learned Grandpa, I love you, I will try to live my life by your beliefs I will pass them to my children as you passed them down to me Keep your loving arms wide open and wait for me to come For that’s where I will run to when my time on earth is done. What have I learned from his loss? I will share it free of cost: We only get one chance at life and we don’t get any younger The second is not here on earth, Where? Is left to wonder…. How do you want to be remembered when your time on earth is done? Do things right the first time and make your family number one. |

A beautiful display of love and honor. Your pen has made him proud as well as your maker. |

If only everyone could heed your words and stop thinking of only themselves.. Wonderfully written! "cast me gently into the morning, for the night has been unkind" |

This one had me tearful. He must have been a wonderful man and I'm sorry for your loss. They never come back to us, we just have to remember them and show them to the world in our actions. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
