She rode the frothy brine in search the mighty whale She walked the tautest line, and boasted of a tale. Her heart ashore within a mate who knew her well One leg and one eye, were lost from where she fell.
She came into the night, a laugh escaped her lips. She tore them from their plight of sinking sailing ships She wore a dagger sheathed beneath her bosom there and swore to not bequeath again her maiden fair.
No land could ever hold her as bells did sound away No man could ever scold her or cause her will to sway For she was born of oceans and storms upon the seas that brought her devotion and grown men to their knees.
And as the light did fade from the earth beyond the edge she stood her ground solid, their liberty her pledge. For Kate was a sailor with one eye missing there and no man would betray her, this belle with golden hair.
The decks could slip into the seas and rise again to air until the bilge was filled with salt and murky waters there. The buckets bailed until they tired and waters washed into the ship until the sails did fill with salt again anew.
And when the night did turn to dawn and birds streaked o’er the sky they say she sailed till life was gone and death closed her one eye... For she was a sailor who climbed the Mizzen mast and rode the seas that bore her until her die was cast.
