Fall of the Summer
It is beauty that dies the cruelest When the warmth of the golden sun sleeps Causing autumn leaves to smile upward While aging gracefully and quickly within the shadows Splashing the skies with orange and yellow stars Before descending to the ground--dry and brittle Trampled by stargazers and the innocent, A cruel but splendid celebration of the summer’s end.

You have given me a whole new perspective on the fall of summer. Beautifully descriptive.
I liked the play on words of "fall of summer"!

Oh yes...The thought of this does paint well upon your pallet, and yet... Autumn is eternal. Nice write. TD
