Of Gentle Hue rose gently brushes the heavens softening my heart toward evening yet before I’m ready night floods the sky with an ebony chill a melancholy for which I’m not prepared overcomes me tears slowly drip my heart to sleep a welcome sedative for joy comes in the morning it’s a promise realized as I rise to mauve bits of fluff against a baby blue hue drying the moisture that had remained of spent tears as a sweet refrain lifts me from slumber eased with faith in new mercy new beginning new day ©November 6, 2004 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |
