Helping each other disrobe
Metaphoric bedtime stories
Increasingly profound fingers
Come up for air in a
Sacred room

Competent leadership
I sighed my weaknesses out loud
Yields beyond gratification
With clarity and delight
On pages
And pages
Like a wave repeating
Continuously…you
Taking me to places and things
Rediscovering parts of hours
Aquamarine blowing against the fog
Resonates meaningful long after cascading showers
Birthing me in an intense soundtrack
Of hard artistic truth
Intimate redemption with punctuation
Goes through the roof
Like a seasonal laborer
On a fishing boat
Constantly tearing through embodied waves
24/7
Where the brain actively requires
Blood hungry love
And a warmed child
Sings, “It’s really pretty here”
Your dissertation keeping score
With syntax
An obsession of mine
Bouts with ping ponging lights
Gathering swarms to keep earliest hours
Serene after the assaults
I remember the intensity of commitment
Meticulous well made roots
And the art…sigh…the art
Loaded with a living being
An accomplished profession
Subjected us to comparison
Ghastly discriminations
Turning polite
Giving companionship in grief
We drafted it many times
Working with wild suggestions
And quiet dignities of music
Drinking some pure fabric of world
Picking up broken words and putting them back
Pursuing whatever we wished
With an advanced degree
From the Future
Suspended in a resinous pool
We spent the last of the 90’s well
No one could recover our whisperings
We raised no white flags
But went down with the yacht
Announcing the winners together
In what little time we owned
