What is love ? |

What is love if not something to keep us satisfied and grounded in the place we’re at be it husband or a wife for in truth we must provide what’s needed on the side and not ride in tandem on the bike of own desires. If you would climb a cliff and I would rather knit does it make love any less in the ultimate design? Yet in the search for sameness and like minded desires the core of happiness can escape unseeing eyes, cause husbands to abort, wives to bemoan their fate, and fuel the fires of war in every home and state. What is love if not something we want but never get when stubborn we rebel against vulnerability? And I am vulnerable each time I say I love you and closeted behind a wall in darkness evermore when teamed and mated with one who rides in tandem but dulls my inner light. It seems that way to me as I sit here trying to see what makes one person special and the other like disease spreading through my soul the pain of loneliness even though the world holds another view. I come back down to energy, what’s compatible with mine, and how a touch can stimulate reciprocity and that can’t be explained when I would rather knit and you would climb a cliff. What is love if not something completely indescribable but too it can be there for one and not the other and that’s the strange something I’ve yet to understand when I know the meaning of the word “compatible”! |

Honeybunch, I think compatible is more about being together and fitting together rather than being the same. And what if he should climb a cliff while you sit at the top and knit? Is that any less romantic than if you do the same things all the time? Good write, very fluid. Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

Love is a promise accepted but whispered too softly to be heard. |

Enjoyed the thoughtfulness of this, the ideas it stirred - thank you - Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

Thank you all so much for reading and responding. Icebox - yes, I like what you said but the trouble is that some people do hear. |
